Our Membership – Who we do Life with as a Church

Membership at The Tabernacle consists of those people who have personally believed and received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and who have committed themselves to this local church in the following three-ways. Church Membership does have its privileges!

“As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10

“Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart.” 1 Peter 1:22

“We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2

The 3 Tabernacle Member Commitments

  • Commitment to Celebrate.

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let’s go to the House of the Lord.’” Psalm 122:1

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before God with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.” Psalm 95:1-2

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our God and we are the people of His pasture the flock under His care.” Psalm 95:6-7

“Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:2

  • Commitment to Connect.

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrew 10:25

“I am giving you a new command – love each other just as I have loved you. Your love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John 13:34-35

“May the Lord make your love to grow and overflow to each other.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.” Romans 12:4-6a

“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

  • Commitment to Contribute.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first-fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” Proverbs 9-10

“A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” Leviticus 27:30

“Bring the whole tithe in to the storehouse, that there may be food in my House. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough to contain it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 3:10-11

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace about to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: ‘He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.’ Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-11
